Fashion, Art & Creativity by Talented Students 2 (FACTS 2) first elimination

Facts & Roses on Friday May 16 held the first elimination of student designers in the Fashion, Art & Creativity by Talented Students 2 (FACTS 2). Going home was Shondeen Walters of St. Joseph’s High who did not find enough favour with the judges to go through.

Odessa Grogan of St. John’s College was adjudged best designer for the first task and was overwhelmingly relieved that she collapsed to the floor with excitement exclaiming ‘I just wanna get off my feet for a while!’

Odessa won G$20,000 for designing the winning piece plus the model that displayed her uniform was awarded a Cole Facts outfit.

The judges for the competition were mostly ecstatic about the designs and encouraged the participants to continue doing what they like best. At one point many felt that they were being judged by Simon of American idol fame as the comments from the judges were brutally stinging.
Remaining in the competition through to the next round are Keisha Harry, Odessa Grogan, Sherrie Hewitt, Krystal Patterson, David Clarke, Sophia Bowman, Sharda Elegon, Afia Bobb, Jenel Cox & Ashley Cameron.

The first programme of FACTS 2 will air thisMo Monday 19th May prime time on HJTV Ch 72 and rebroadcast during the coming week.

  1. Well honestly I don't think Shondene should've been sent home. The were other uniforms there that didn't make any sense e.g. "Afia’s uniform" if you catch me wearing a burgundy and mustard colour uniform on the road, kill me!. As for Chrystal Patterson's uniform if they wore a uniform like that in school that tight in some places trust me I would be present every day. Lets see what they're going to do with the white cloth and the Amerindian straw. I bet thats one you wouldn't want to miss. I hope someone who doesn't deserve to be there gets eliminate.

  2. I saw FACTS2 over and over again over the past week and i enjoyed it. I am truly impressed at Michelle's initiative and certainly impressed at the students. The judges also for most part did a good job, but I was really disturbed at the fact that they had to laugh out at one of the students' piece. Well, one person had to go home and if it was that student, well the others can count themselves lucky and strive to put out their best at the net venture. I will keep looking at this show.

  3. Well!I do believe that the right person won and the right person was sent home.Michelle keep up the good work in molding the future. And lastly I must congratulate Afia for having the courage to enter this competition at such a tender age and putting forward her luminous design.

  4. I think Afia will make it far in the competition. I favour the simplicity in her designs, but Keisha Harry and Odessa Grogan are possibly my two picks for the finale. Their designs are just a step above the rest in creativity and approach. At least all the contestants will leave with experience in the end, which is good for our fashion industry.

  5. I think this whole designin stuff is helpin alot of young people who want to become designers in the future, I know Odessa and Keisha personally and I must say ever since I've known Keisha she had always love scandulous clothing, Odessa is a hard working young woman and she is proud of our school St.John's College

  6. Sharda should have been sent home instead of Sherrie, was the judges watching the same thing I was…you couldn't really tell what that purple dress/skirts suit was…all in all I think Sharda is the next person to go she has too many excuses everytime she delivers her piece.
