WildFire Productions – VIP Party for 2009

WildFire Production plans on keeping a VIP Party for 2009 and would like to know how the public feels about paying $20,000 ($100 USD) to be 1 of 800 invited guests. The details would be drinks and food all night, party at a private resident location unlike anything Guyanese have really seen, international artistes like Ne-Yo, Jordan Sparks, Lady Ga-ga, Lloyd (Get It Shawty, Girls around the world feat. Lil Wayne) and/or Chris Brown.

What are your thoughts about this V.I.P Party?

  1. First of all, I must say that I am a bit perplexed as to the concept of a VIP party. From what I know so far one would be required to pay 100US to be one of 800 invited guests. Now where I come from the term VIP means pampering and extra special treatment in every aspect, therefore I suggest this; anyone can pay 100US to enter into such an event but not everyone can get a complimentary special invitation. Give out a few tickets to persons that you hold dear to your heart (and by that I mean your business and your wallet). That’s VIP treatment! These persons would still be entitled to the same luxuries as those who paid but they will feel more like royalty because they would be hand-picked to attend such an event. And this cover charge raises some eye brows, namely what happens if the exchange rate fluctuates and can a person pay in Pounds Sterling or the Canadian currency?
Secondly, define drinks and food all night. I’m Guyanese and when someone courageously says “drinks and food all night” some people starve themselves that particular day to get their money’s worth. Comical as it may be, it is very accurate and thus I recommend not jus finger food but a small buffet of superior food groups. A hungry man is an angry man (especially after paying that hefty price). The bar should not be limited in any way possible. Space and variety is paramount by all means. If I go up to the bar and ask for a glass of rum with coconut water the bartender should ask white or brown rum. No excuses! That would give pleasure to many, so get as many sponsors as required to complete this mission.
Now I do like the idea that it will be held at a private abode, it would take us away from the regular sports club scene and should create an unsurpassed ambiance. That being said, the décor must be flawless. From the types of chairs used, to the type of carpet laid on the ground, to the staff’s attire should be well premeditated and executed. Apart from giving the locals a time of their lives we would also want to astonish the foreigners. Which brings me to the artistes on the ticket, and the one thing that comes to mind is “a wonderful selection if I do say so myself!” The only factor that can thwart this endeavor is the party’s date. Wildfire should learn that timing is everything and they should not make mistakes like bringing T-Pain on Mashramani Night.
Decisively, it is an excellent idea and with proper preparation and implementation it will be talked about for years. I would say that Wildfire never disappoints and so I know things will be just spectacular but H&J has not disappointed me until the “Live your life party” so once bitten twice shy. I’m counting no chickens before they are hatched. When more particulars are accessible more remarks will be made.

  2. The whole concept of a "VIP" party should be changed and they can just call it a "Bruk Pocket Affair" .. Only if i pay i'm invited, how does that work? 20,000 is far too much for the 'public' to pay to attend any event, in this trying time , you will be generally catering to one section of society and excluding a greater majority.
The artistes listed are really big names and I can see why you would want to charge so much. I take it, these people will be singing quite a few songs each, mixing and mingling, signing autographs, taking pictures, dancing and having fun wit their fans?
Why not start 2009 with a bang, and have all these artistes at a super concert, charge something like 5000 so that everybody can be happy, and you can still have your VIP and give free drinks and food as planned.
On the note of free drinks and food, that is of concern to me too, my understanding is an open bar where i will be able to drink from soda water to Hennessey, cocktails of all sorts and will the food be a wide array of finger foods or buffet style hearty meals? I mean 20,000 is real bread and people got to get their money's worth.
I agree with Koyo on the set up too, I must feel like I'm attending one of those celebrity birthday parties or something. A lot of planning has to go into this to pull it off and pull it off goood.
So Wildfire , you have a little more thinking to go. This doesnt appeal to the public but rather a particular niche of society, timing(date) is paramount, setting (place) also, food and drinks need to be taken into consideration.
These are my thoughts on the proposed event…but honestly a Super Concert would be ideal.

  3. The concept of having a VIP party with such artistes does sound great and like Koyo commented timing & venue is the key.
now we know Guyanese, if they want to go to an event they'll get whatever money they need for that event so that whole "Bruk Pocket Affair" thing does not apply, therefore if this party is ligit (as wildfire never disappoints)im sure anyone that wants go will go.
on that same note,if i'm spending TWENTY THOUSAND GUYANA DOLLARS of my hard earned money,i must get my money;s worth and i can only guess that these artistes would be enjoying them sleves with the guest and not barred away having their OWN VIP party.
All being said i would enjoy such a party.
