Ravi B, Karma etc for Guyana Chutney in the Park

Chutney Soca lovers are being advised to mark their calendar for two full days of entertainment in November. Over the years countries such as the USA Canada, Holland and Trinidad have had their experience of the Chutney in the Park show and now its Guyana’s turn says coordinator Mahendra Ramkellawan. The Karma band members    who have
performed for countless sold out shows are more than eager to return to Guyana and that they most certainly will be doing for this event.

On November 6 and 7 the Karma Band headed by Ravi B and Nisha B will be in Guyana along with a slew of other chutney acts to entertain at the Starlite  Drivin and  the Anna Regina  Community Centre Ground. According to Coordinator Ramkellawan the two nights will be most entertainingly explosive.

He explained that “this is a Caribbean Fire Fest production and we guaranteed that this will be done at the international level” He said too that the event will feature himself along with acts such as Bollywood Filmi singer Anil Singh, Daddy Chiney, Rakesh Yankarran of Dulahin Chalaa fame  along with,  Davanan Gatto of baby dance  let me
see  dam dam fame. They are set to arrive on December 6 and will be dishing all the favourites and some fresh songs too.

Ravi B the reigning Trinidad Chutney King will also be using the event to launch a new single while the ‘drunk man in the grave yard’ video story will unfold officially from Ramkellwan.  The  artistes will be backed by Shakti Strings Orchestra and the  Clarity  International band.

Chutney Super Concert

It’s back and bigger than before! The Jamzone Chutney Super concert is here once more ready to blaze with some of the most phenomenal chutney artistes from around the region.

Brace yourself for a scorching night of entertainment featuring Caribbean artistes including,  Adesh Samaroo, D’Hitman, De Hunter, Soca Elvis, Sabrina Ragobeer and Guyana’s Shakti Strings and  Princess Fiona.

Guyanese, turn out in your numbers to get a glimpse of the artistes who are already making preparations to dish out some astounding performances.
This show headed for the Guyana National Stadium on Saturday August 15th, will kick off the host of events planned for this year’s Jamzone Summer Break Weekend including performances by Grammy-award winning R&B artiste Neyo and the acclaimed ‘Gully God’ Mavado.
Tickets for the Chutney Super Concert are being sold at an affordable cost of $1000.

Last year, fans from all corners of Guyana were treated to spectacular performances when Trinidadian Chutney Cross-over band ‘Karma’, along with the ‘More rum for me’ singer D’Hitman heated up the Guyana National Stadium at the first ever Jamzone Chutney Super concert.
The event dubbed the ‘Chutney Bacchanal’ featured supporting acts such as Kenneth Salick, Drupattie and Anil Singh. Approximately five thousand persons attended the concert which was quite significant for this premiere event.

This year, Jamzone will be celebrating its tenth anniversary and have planned a packed roster of activities that are sure to provide an unsurpassable level of leisure, fun and entertainment.

Its Chutney soca weekend

In keeping with the spirit of Chutney Soca during this festive Mash season; Wonder Boy Production in collaboration with Rohan Sarjoo is hosting two international shows to start off the Mash Weekend.

‘Chutney in The Village’ goes down today at the Diamond Community Centre Ground and tomorrow at the Starlite Drive-In, Montrose East Coast Demerara.

The star-studded cast of International artiste billed to perform include Guyana Baboo’  Terry Gajraj, Princess Anisa who is popular for the hit ‘Tek Sunita Singer’ along with  The Chutney Ambassador fresh from Trinidad and Tobago Carnival  Neeshan D’Hitman, and Chutney Raja, Rakesh Yankarran will also be launching his new album in Guyana at the two shows.

The entertainment will be supported by Avi and the Supertones Band dubbed New York’s number one party band with its full cast of US-based Guyanese singers.

That list includes King Raj, Pally Dass, Kulie Boy Omesh and Anand Hansraj.

The show will also feature some of Guyana’s top local dancers as well as the Shakti Strings Band, Up-setters Sounds and DJ Steve.

Event’s manager WR Reaz said, “This show is the most affordable Chutney/Soca show for 2010 so far with admission advance tickets at only $500.”

He said that the two shows are family-oriented with lots of entertainment, food, drinks and he assured that security will be at its peak from the Police Force and Private Protection at both venues.

All set for Radica Invasion says Zoom promotions – Chutney in Meh Vein!!!

Headed by Paul Singh Zoom Promotions is set to bring some hot chutney vibes Guyana’s way for three day. Dubbed ‘Radica invasion: Chutney in Meh vein’ the show is cared for May 15 at Albion ground Berbice, may 16 at Starlite Drivin and May 17 at Uitvlugth.

This show, according to promoter Ricardo Basdeo is aimed at offering Guyanese some stress relief through Trinidad artistes Kenneth Salick aka the original Radica singer.

The other artistes include Kavita aka Radica Girl, Michael Saloum aka Soca Elvis, Hunter the rum man, De Hit man and the Divya Band out of Trinidad.

The show is the first venture for the group which is promising that this will not be the last event from their camp.

The sponsors include Banks Premium, Digicel, Japarts, Zoom Inn Hotel, Secrets of Victoria, Caribbean airlines, Gift Land office Max, Hardware depot, Alfro Alphonso and sons group of companies.

Coordinator Paul Singh said “We decided that we will have this show because the artistes are hot and while they will be entertaining we are also against abuse meted out to women and so we are having this show to offer entertainment while passing on the message that men should not abuse women but love them instead.”

A pre-show party is scheduled for Buddy’s night club May 14 while an after party is slated for May 16 at Zoom Inn.

The artistes are scheduled to arrive in Guyana next Wednesday and will be meeting with fans at various locations. (Mondale Smith for promoters)
