Guyanese Musicians, producers and persons ancillary to the music industry are one step closer to finding out who will be nominated as the crème de le crème in their field. This happens as the directorship of the Accolade Awards announce the nominations committee whose job is to research and then nominate the most suitable persons for the proposed categories. The nominations committee is made up of the following persons:
Burchmore Simon – Music Producer
Kerwyn Bollers – Entertainer
Sean Bhola – Song writer/ producer
Malcolm Ferreia – Radio Announcer/DJ
Jaya Devi Manickchand – Attorney-at-law
The Accolades team revealed that musicians will be nominated in some thirty- three categories ranging from Lifetime Achievement Awards to Entertainer of the year, to Song of the Year with a long list of others.
Artiste wanting to submit their music to the nominations team should contact Mr. Burchmore Simon or call 698-5195.
The Music Awards will be held on November 30th 2008 at the National Cultural Centre and is promised to be an evening of glitz and glamour from the red carpet entrance to the last performance. Guyanese patrons can expect local and regional performances from the best in the business.
is this a legit awards or another GT man tryin' a husstle..that being said no guyanese musician has had an impact worldwide like Terry Gajraj or Slingshot…as for home based…props to Timeka Marshall, Eddie Neblett , Malo and Jumo..but he always singin' back people songs.
well clearly Mr Gregory have not been doing or listening to his GT people if there is anybody I know that will surely take away alot of awards is Mr. Adrian Dutchin. That young man has been doing very well in so many places and you say Terry and Slingshot I have nothing against them but sir you are way back in your music I dont think the lights of those two can come across what x2 is doing and so many others so plz sir just stay very quiet I can see you must be a very old person so I hold my mouth and will not diss you.
What makes these people qualified to hold this awards show?
Mr. Simon seems to be the only credible source.
I am impressed with the person or persons behind the idea. this is something good and it will also boost the entertainment industry of Guyana and will also be an encouragement for the Guyanese artises to produce quality songs. I hope it will be a success. I have the likes of Natural Black, Adrian Dutchin,Lilman, Vanilla, Firstborn,Eddie Neblett for top spots
the people behind the whole idea has no knowledge whatever for Music…what are they qualifications..prove it…Birch runs Krosskolor and i wont be surprised if he put most of his artistes in the forefront (Jumo, Adrian, Lilman and Godzilla)..Slingshot is more passionate about Guyanese music than u kno..Terry likewise..lets wait and see.
I am tired of those idiots who just criticise from rain to romance. I think a Music Awards is long overdue for Guyana and lets give those behind it an opportunity to prove themselves. It is both improper and unfair to be suggestive even without any reason or evidence. Guyana has gone places and will continue to progress. Good luck to the producers of the music awards. You have my support and I will ensure my emotions do not spill over.
