Hits and Jams gets Tourism award

“This is both a privilege and an honour to us as a young group and it will certainly serve as a motivator to us. We hope other entertainment providers will be motivated to up their game to make Guyana a Tourism/Entertainment hub.”

These were the words of Hits and Jams Director Kerwin Bollers after he joined his brother Dwight, and good friend Kerwin Bollers, to receive the award for “Mega Entertainment Promoters” at this year’s Tourism Awards ceremony.

The event was held recently at the Guyana International Conference Centre.

The group is high in praise for corporate Guyana and the thousands of local fans who believe in their ventures and continually support them.

“Like every other group we started promoting to make money and even when we did not make any we were heartened that the people were happy and satisfied from the heart.

“We promoted then for everyone and will continue to offer entertainment and tourism attractions and opportunities to develop the entertainment industry for everyone and at the same time show that there is more to Guyana than negativity,” said Rawle Fergusson.

Remaining humble, the group said years ago “if we were told that we would be receiving a Guyana Tourism Ministry award we would have laugh but here we are and are even more motivated with this recognition.”

Over the years aside from promoting  international stage shows featuring the crème de la crème of international acts they have also  served as brokers for many other promoters to access  international artistes.  Further the group is also the lone promotions outfit that manages a television station that provides 24 hours of local and international entertainment.

Hits and Jams has also produced and maintained probably the most lucrative and largest mass-based supported tourism event – the Jamzone Summer Break Weekend and the Miss Jamzone pageant.

The rationale behind the award is that Hits and James group from a private perspective has organized and promoted mega events locally at levels that are yet to be paralleled by any other local promotions group.

Tourism Ministry officials recognise Hits and Jams as being the most innovative and creative international/local organizers who continue to churn out international events on the local shores.

New Year Explosion – January 1st 2K9

Linden on January 1 is normally surrounded by a hub of activity and businesses prosper better than any other day of the year besides the week of Linden Town week. “Alternative Contracting” has decided in the absence of the football finals – an activity which keeps the mining town busy with visitors – not to leave a void in which Lindeners do not have any activity. Alternative Contracting has decided to start what is to be an annual concert dubbed “New Year Explosion 2k9” at the MSC Sports Ground.

This concert will feature some hot artists and is sure to be a great addition to Linden’s activities. Wildfire Productions has been hired and contracted to manage the event as Alternative Contracting is the promoter of the event. Wildfire Productions, besides doing our own concerts, offer these services such as event management for those promoters/investors who are interested in doing public or private entertainment concerts/events. The artists who are to be featured will be booked by Wildfire Productions. More information to come in the following weeks leading up to the event.

Karma Band Experience Press Release

It’s on at the GCC Ground! Karma will be performing at The National Park on the 6th december, what we call the BIGGEST SOCA CHUTNEY PARTY of the year! While it is not a mega concert like we usually do, it will be a soca chutney party to remember. People will definitely enjoy themselves and this will serve as a prelude of what is to come next year with the Karma Band. Even though we had received general reports that it is going to be a rainy season, our sources informed us that we should be good for the 6th December. The “Karma Experience” will be just that on the 6th December at the National Park – A REAL EXPERIENCE. It will be the biggest soca chutney party of the year and people can come out to thoroughly enjoy themselves. Karma will be performing for a FULL 2 HOURS and that is why the show is named the Karma Experience, so people will get to enjoy everything from Soca, chutney, Hindi remixes, dancehall and hip hop. As everyone knows Wildfire Productions creates some mega shows whenever we do concerts, so for us this here is how we would do a party style event. The heart throb Ravi B (as many of our female affiliates refer to him)
will be in full gear with his energetic performances while his sexy sister (as we the men see her!) Nisha B will be ready to tear it up again. Guyana can expect a great party to start the Christmas off. Tickets will only be
sold at the venue and will be only $1,500 VAT inclusive. Karma Band was here in July for our Wild Fire Fest 2k8 in July in which they were the highlight of the show and the talk of the town after it. We would like to say thanks to Caribbean Airlines who partnered with us and all of our sponsors who have helped us along the way.
